At the Gmundner Lodge you can experience Africa at its own pace. You arrive, look out into the savannah and leave everyday life behind. Between game drives, retreating to your suite and moving around in the landscape, a stay is created that does not seem staged, but remains immediate and close to the location.

Your journey sequence

Arrive in the vastness of Namibia

The rhythm changes as soon as you arrive. The lodge opens up to the landscape, canvas walls reveal views of the savanna, hills and passing wildlife. Warm colors, wood, leather and handcrafted details evoke the atmosphere of classic safari lodges. You hear the wind, footsteps on wood and the quiet clinking of glasses. For the first meal, products from our own farm are served on the table. Fresh vegetables, sustainably raised meat and fine spices. Served on Gmundner ceramics. Culinary delights become part of the arrival. Quiet, honest and close to the place.

Wild encounters at first light

Early in the morning you get into the open vehicle. The air is cool, the smell of dust and dry grass fills the nose. During the game drive you will hear the crunching of tires, bird calls and movement in the bush. Animals cross the savannah freely and unhurriedly. In the evening you go out again. The sun is low and gives the sky and landscape a warm color. A cool drink, wind on your skin, space. At night a clear starry sky stretches over the lodge.

Space for retreat – in the middle of Africa

Your suite becomes your retreat in the vastness. Soft materials, warm lighting and a four-poster bed create a calm atmosphere. The indoor and outdoor pools open up to the landscape, and the scents of earth and savannah fill the air. The family suite combines shared experiences with retreat. Separate areas create closeness and at the same time space for yourself. Terraces and outdoor pools maintain the connection to nature. In the evening, peace falls over the lodge. You sit outside and hear the wind.

Experience Africa at your own pace

You explore the area by e-bike. You move silently through hills and plains, your view remains wide. Later, challenge yourself on the tennis court or in the gym. Movement, concentration, a clear focus. After the activity comes recovery. In the sauna, warmth surrounds the body, while outside the evening air cools the skin. A day between energy and calm.

Between savannah and deep relaxation

In the morning you ride through open terrain. The rhythm of the hooves, the smell of leather and earth and the proximity to the landscape make Africa immediately noticeable. Back at the lodge, everything slows down. In the spa, targeted movements release tension and oils have a subtle scent of nature. In the afternoon a different moment arises. In the ceramics room you can feel the cool clay under your fingers, color on the surface. A retreat that grounds you.

Focus, breadth and new perspectives

The day begins with concentration. When archery or clay pigeon shooting, you concentrate movement and attention. Then we continue out into the area. Longer game drives, more time to observe, more distance. Savannah, mountains and plains. Back at the lodge, the day ends quietly.
